23 Thoughts to “Arizona Sees August Snow; Europe Forecast Stark Temperature Drop; Australia’s Solar Power Woes; + Data Show Ocean Currents Aren’t Slowing Down…”
The ocean current story is a good one. When the story was the AMOC slowing down, it was human caused. Now currents are speeding up, CO2!!
The rest of the planets are seeing changes too. Pluto’s atmosphere has shrunk, Venus and Jupiter (if I remember correctly) winds have increased. This could be the galactic current sheet hitting our solar system. This is a bad time for our magnetic shield to be failing. All I see now on my feed are auroras. For 60
years, I hardly saw a few in southern Ontario.
I guess we got their weather here in Missouri. It’s 69F and 55% H right now. It feels like fall, ie pretty perfect. I wish had more energy, but if I have to drag myself on my hands and knees I’m going to get some work done around here while it’s possible. Working on the front porch, still, and likely to be for days and days. But I WILL have it cleaned, organized and disinfected after 3 years of racoons and neighborhood dogs and cats clambering all over it, and everything is going into plastic tubs with lids.
God gave us weather like this for just such a job as this, and this year I’m not letting it slide by. But I really ought to feel better after all the heart surgery I had. Be darned if I’m going to waste perfect days sitting in doctor’s offices, tho. They can wait til winter! (Go light on the snow, will you, Cap?)
The Weather Channel home page has the Current US Surface Map which shows the warm fronts, cold fronts and occluded fronts. Same maps on there for 26 years since I’ve been watching weather on the internet. https://weather.com/maps/currentusweather
Way back when, before there were weather satellites, all we had was a black and white map with warm fronts, cold fronts and occluded fronts. I used to buy the newspaper for a dime every morning to look at that weather map back in the 60s. Those are the waves on the wavey jet stream, the meridional flow oscillations they just have fancy new names some geeks came up with reinventing the entire language to geek speak. https://th.bing.com/th/id/R.42a6b203a2b42a18156d9889c9bb4786?rik=qPAxXvnCUDaiuA&pid=ImgRaw&r=0
Hon Mike from Wayegon KY. I love this cool weather. Now I can get things done. How ya doing and think…more FIREWOOD MORE FIREWOOD!
Stay cool OR warm whatever makes ya happy. Oh it will be 54Β°f tonite!πππΊπΈ
I used to have a neighbor, an old man, who spent his entire summer splitting wood. Whenever I would walk down to visit him, he would say,”Winter is coming.”
The houses were not insulated as well back then and they had high ceilings to let the heat rise in the summertime with no AC. Hard to heat, I imagine.
Beautiful cam shot! I saved that one. I like the fog in the valley. I might paint it sometime, but no time to paint now. Gotta make hay while the sun shines.
Highs in the 70’s, lows in the 50’s. Perfect, perfect, PERFECT! (And low humidity, too. Joy!)
It was cool and rainy today as we were hiking in southwest England. We tried to go faster and created much more CO2, but it got even cooler. Can somebody tell me where the CO2 thermostat button is, please? Is it even working??
Haha! Love that dry Brit humor! My Mom did, too. We used to watch Brit sitcoms together. Blackadder, As Time Goes By, Keeping Up Appearances. Good memories.
It’s right next to the Fragastat button on the lower upper Right side on the Left ππ€£π€£π€£π₯
Anyway keep pouring out CO2 cuz plants need to breathe!
They mentioned something about freezing temps in Brazil earlier last month affecting coffee prices. It has! The medium roast I get every week went up from 3.98 to 5.24 now. As of Sept.2nd.
If it gets too bad we may have to start cutting it with roasted chicory and dandelion root like they did during the Great Depression. Both are yummy and better for you than coffee, but sadly no caffeine.
Not only did hail destroy the massive solar panel field, it bankrupted the firm that owned the field, and has caused great concern with the surrounding property owners due to the potential hazardous waste release. Local, state, and federal governments are facing a major cleanup effort of the debris and released hazardous chemicals from the smashed solar panels.
Just more items on the list of overlooked issues from the overhyped Green Revolution.

So….taxpayers pay the cleanup of the smashed solar farm. Bah!

Hi
Where can we find raw data on the atmosphere of other planets ?
Suspicious Observers would be a good place to start. They have been following this story for year.
Thx Richard !
Have a nice day.
We go by Saturn next week while Mercury is going by Jupiter. Venus is across from Mars same time. Then we start going between Saturn and Jupiter by mid October pulling us away from ol Sol. The solar flares are hitting Venus right now because Venus opposite Mars and Mercury going by Mars.

Ya, you’re in a cold front and NW EU is in a cold front. Germany in a heatwave, Montana in a heatwave. 102F in Montana today record HOT. Heatstroke warning. Ave temp is 80 last year 94F another hot non GSM day from solar flares.
North American heatwave goes up into the Yukon Canada record HOT today in Ft Mcmurry Alberta, record HOT forecast again on Sunday this weekend from solar flares. Heatwaves from solar flares have cold fronts then cherry pick those and say from GSM no flares for fresh clickbait.

If this is what you call a cold front, I’ll take it every day of the year, please!

Look at the World Satellite Maps they use compared to Windy.com Interactive Infrared Satellite with Barometric Isobars and active radar. Then all the other functions on Windy, so much more there. Weather Channel has made so much money on TV and that’s all they got.

I worked with a fellow from Maine who said they burned 25 cords of wood every winter when he was young. 25 times eight feet long by four feet wide. Full time job that’s why guys used to die young before chainsaws wear themselves out trying to stay warm cutting wood with hand saws
